World University Games football comes to an end

The final results were:

GBR Women 4 France Women 1
Women win the Bronze medal
Naomi Bruton (Loughborough) won Goalkeeper of the tournament
This is a fantastic achievement and has moved them on from their 7th place in 2007. Congratulations to all the staff including Andy Spence, Kate Rowson, Tracy Lewis, Dawn Scott and Kerry Hersey.

GBR Men 0 Japan Men 1
Men finish 4th place
GBR win fair play award for the tournament
Another result which is an improvement on last Universiade's placing. Just unlucky to miss out to winning a medal. Congratulations to all.
Thank you for all your support. The teams have both qualified automatically for next Universiade which is in 2011, China.
